Go away Winter come on Spring

Image
Source: https://www.almanac.com/content/first-day-spring-vernal-equinox As the first rays of sunlight filter through my window A symphony of birdsong serenades me awake Is it spring that beckons?  Though I see no birds in sight, their melodious tune resonates through the air reminiscent of an operatic performance. My heart yearns for this winter to end to shed the heavy layers and slip into my elegant floral dress with a high V-neck and front zipper effortlessly revealing my Forest Pine Victoria's Secret bikini as I plunge into the lake. I dream of the snow melting away, the weight of winter jackets lifting and finally embracing the light and airy designs of Bimmyana's Akanra Collection. Stepping outside I feel the warmth of the sun caress my skin a tantalizing hint of summer in the air Across my neighbour's yard, the crocus blooms burst forth painting a canvas of yellow, pink, and blue Oh, spring, how I long for your sweet arrival.

My Everyday Lagos

I woke up at 5:30am due to my alarm, which I usually set multiple times. However, for some reason, I didn't get ready until after 7am. I left my house at 10 past 7am and took a bike to Kilo bus stop in Ikate Surulere to catch a bus going to CMS. As expected, there was heavy traffic, but the bus driver knew some shortcuts to bypass it. We drove through Adeniran Ogunsanya street, through Akinsemoyin, and eventually arrived at Eric Moore before taking the road that leads to Apapa, I think, and finally reaching Eko bridge. Although there was traffic on the road leading to CMS, the bus driver took a shortcut that led to their park. I got off and walked to the keke station to go to Obalende, but there were no available kekes, and a lot of people were waiting. I thought of taking a bike, but then I heard a voice shouting "Obalende waso" from afar and rushed to enter the bus before it got filled up. As we got close to Obalende, the driver dropped us off at MRS Filling Station, wh

Ojota Circa 2017 Alarm goes off, I got up and looked at the time. “Oh my God! Its 5:00am” I yelled as I jumped off my bed and ran to the kitchen sink to brush my teeth. I went to the bathroom and took a seven-minute bath. Once more, I looked at the time, and it was 5:17am. “Damn, making up is not even an option” I muttered.   At precisely 5:21 a.m., I dressed and left my residence, which was quite late. I waited in line for a BRT bus at the Ajah bus stop; the line was so lengthy that I was losing patience and perspiring like the heat from a pot cover. The bus was packed when I finally boarded it, and since I couldn't find a seat, I had to stand and hold onto the seat next to me to keep myself from collapsing. As we got closer to the Lekki Phase II roundabout, the typical Lekki traffic began to move. If the bus doesn't leave this traffic in the next five minutes, I felt like the ground should swallow me. I kept berating myself for waking up so late.  My legs are already

SHE CAME - HE BOMBED by Bimmyana

Image
Source: Google She came to me and said “ Hey! let me share with you my romantic history ” She was love bombed But this explosion was more powerful than the nuclear bomb used in war Her heart was at war, perhaps I tried to comfort her as she sobbed uncontrollably But there was little I could do She just wanted me to listen She grew in love barely two weeks after they first met He was the perfect man sent from God Or maybe the Devil – who knows His description was unimaginable Therefore, I do not believe she was telling me the truth Here! Handsome, clean-shaved, neat haircut Abs of a person who snoozes at the gym Dresses like Forbes 40 under 40 And of course, tall and dark, dentitions were as white as a coconut meat Whenever he smiles the Earth stood still I think I am also falling in love   She goes again! “He set fire to my soul” “He flew me so high and dropped me on a volcano” “I burn!” “I burn!” “I think I am dead but I am still alive” At this point, I became lost, but I wanted to
